Applications now open for the Good Neighbor Week home repair program

BROWN COUNTY – Good Neighbor Week is a volunteer based, community initiative that provides free help to homeowners across Green Bay, De Pere and Allouez areas.

Eligible community members are welcome to apply to be on the list of residences to be serviced.

“I have been leading this program for five years out of its seventh year in existence...” said Vicki Bokelman. “We have already received nine applications. We review the applicants and assign them to projects based on people’s needs!”
The Good Neighbor Program assists many residences with essential exterior management. Projects may include minor repairs, exterior painting, landscaping, smaller scale tree trimming and gutter cleanings.

These services can be unavailable or inaccessible to people for any number of reasons, logistical, financial and physical barriers can quickly turn challenging.

“The repairs not only improved the structure of my home, but they also brought a renewed sense of security for my grandchildren and me. I am now able to focus more on creating a safe, warm environment for my family, knowing that the generosity of others has eased some of my burdens,” said Angie Cadena, a 2025 Good Neighbor Week homeowner.

The Good Neighbor Program actively accepts donations and sponsorships in order to continue helping the community and expand the amount of homes the project is serving.

Homeowners may apply for themselves or be nominated by others.
To qualify, applicants must own and occupy the home as their primary residence and live in Green Bay, Allouez or De Pere.

Applications are open now through May 1, 2026.

2026 project weeks will take place in Allouez Aug. 16-22, in Green Bay Sept. 20-26 and in De Pere Oct. 5-9.
