The Weidner unveiled its 2025-2026 Broadway In Green Bay Series this week, featuring seven live stage productions presented in partnership with Innovation Arts and Entertainment.
“We promote shows all across North America, but to be able to do something that’s closer to home means a lot to us…” said Joe Kosin, vice president of programming at Innovation Arts and Entertainment. “We have about a dozen Broadway seasons that we operate across North America as well and I’m proud that Green Bay has grown into one of those… Since 2018, we’ve done close to 20 shows with The Weidner and our goal is to continue to increase that number… For this upcoming season, we’re very excited to present six great titles that will be coming to The Weidner and hopefully a few more along the way. We’re always looking at what additional shows we can add into the mix that can attract an audience and bring people to a night at the theater that they won’t forget.”
The Broadway in Green Bay Series is just one of several endeavors The Weidner Center has pursued with the mindset of “nothing without a partner” — a goal to strengthen The Weidner’s offerings by working with outside organizations.
“We found a partner in Innovation Arts and Entertainment, based out of Chicago, to help us revive a full Broadway series here at The Weidner..” said Kelli Strickland, executive and artistic director at The Weidner Center. “If there are folks in the community or sometimes folks outside of our community who have shared motivations — whether those are business interests, mission interests or relationship interests — we would be stronger in our efforts [together]... This approach in our work has resulted in venue ticket sales tripling since 2018 and has resulted in our attendance increasing five times since 2019.”
