Posted

BROWN COUNTY – On Feb, 12, Sheriff Todd Delain and his staff recognized area law enforcement and citizens during the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Benevolent Association meeting, held at Rock Garden Supper Club.

During the event, Shaun & Trent Dolan were recognized with the Good Samaritan Award.

“On Dec. 14, 2024, Shaun and Trent Dolan, father and son, observed a female and her child in distress sitting in a business parking lot in the village of Howard. The female and child had been displaced from their vehicle because of a crash earlier in the day,” a sheriff’s office release stated.

“Shaun and Trent contacted law enforcement and offered to pay for transportation for the female and child to their residence. After arrangements were made, Shaun and Trent took the time to personally deliver all of the items removed from the car to the residence, ensuring they had everything they needed during a difficult and emotional time. This act of kindness demonstrates true selflessness and dedication to helping others.”

Two Certificates of Appreciation for a lifesaving act were also presented.

One honored Alexander Beckett, Ross Wegner, Sean Topacio and Devyn Mcllraith.

“On May 19, 2024, [they] witnessed a tragic accident when a vehicle drove into a pond near Salisbury Street in the village of Bellevue, submerging two individuals inside,” the release added. “Without hesitation, [they] exhibited outstanding teamwork by jumping into the pond and courageously pulling the trapped victims to safety prior to the arrival of emergency responders.
A second one was presented to Drew Liegeois.

“On June 12, 2024, Drew was relaxing at a hotel pool when he heard screaming coming from the pool edge. Drew observed a young child being pulled from the pool and appeared to be unresponsive. He demonstrated outstanding courage and the presence of mind to act immediately. Drawing upon his past training as a lifeguard, he administered CPR and began life-saving measures, ultimately aiding in the child’s recovery,” the release stated.
