City seeks feedback on St. John’s Park

Posted

GREEN BAY – The City of Green Bay Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department is asking residents, downtown workers and park enthusiasts to help shape the future of the city’s historic St. John’s Park.

A public input meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 6-8 p.m., in the city hall’s second floor council chambers at 100 N. Jefferson St., Green Bay.

“St. John’s Park has served our community for generations,” said Parks Director Dan Ditscheit. “As we develop a comprehensive master plan, we want to hear what amenities, activities and experiences people would like to see in this downtown green space over the next 10, 20 and 50 years.”

Meeting attendees will learn about the master-planning timeline and opportunities for involvement, review existing park conditions and preliminary concept ideas and share priorities for recreation, environmental enhancements, cultural events, accessibility and overall park character.

A short online survey is open and will remain available for one week after the meeting for those unable to attend in person.

Details will be posted at greenbaywi.gov/Parks.

“Public feedback will guide everything from playgrounds and gardens to gathering spaces and public art,” Ditscheit added. “Whether you live next door or visit downtown occasionally, your voice matters.”

For more information or to submit comments, contact the Parks Department at (920) 448-3365 or parks@greenbaywi.gov.
