Community Baby Shower supports new parents

Posted

GREEN BAY– For the second year, Emplify Health by Bellin is hosting a children’s book drive to support libraries serving families in Brown County.

The collected books will be distributed to families at the second annual free Community Baby Shower.

“Melissa Viste planned the first Community Baby Shower in May 2025 after noticing a gap in pregnancy resources,” said Emplify’s Wellness Education Specialist Michelle Gilbertson.
Last year, the event was held in Wrightstown in May.

This year, the book drive and community baby shower have expanded to meet a greater need in Brown County.

In partnership with the Green Bay Packers, the Community Baby Shower will be held in the Lambeau Field Atrium.

By bringing together local agencies, Emplify provides a wide variety of educational resources for new parents in the community.

The topics to be covered include nutrition, mental health, literacy and information on pelvic floor exercises and other postpartum care.

“I can’t wait to bring together local agencies and educate new parents on what resources are available here in Brown County,” said Gilbertson.

Emplify Health by Bellin has 33 confirmed vendors for the event, and the first 75 families to attend the Community Baby Shower will receive an MVP Community Care Kit, which includes a donation-filled bag.

New or gently used books can be dropped off from now until March 11 at four different Emplify locations in the community.
