Five Phoenix Score in Double Digits in Green Bay's 86-77 Loss to IU

GREEN BAY – A late comeback attempt wasn't quite enough as the Green Bay men's basketball team fell to the IU Indy Jaguars, 86-77 at the Resch Center Wednesday night. IU Indy was hot from the start and finished the night shooting 15-of-24 (62.5%) from three point range on the night.

The Phoenix (2-19, 0-10) had five players score in double figures, led by Jeremiah Johnson, who had 18 points. Marcus Hall and Mac Wrecke scored 12 a piece while Preston Ruedinger and Ryan Wade finished with 11 each.

IU Indy was led by big performances from Sean Craig and Paul Zilinskas. Craig had 24 points and nine rebounds while Zilinskas finished with 21.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After trading baskets early, the Jaguars separated themselves after back-to-back threes from Zilinskas and Jarvis Walker pushed their lead to 10 with 9:01 left in the first half. IU Indy steadily increased that lead for the remainder of the half, going into halftime with a 46-29 lead.

That lead remained for the majority of the second half before the Phoenix went on a 12-2 run in the final few minutes to bring the game back to within 10. Unfortunately, that run came a little too late as Green Bay fell 86-77.

Green Bay will be back in Horizon League action when they try to even the season series against Cleveland State on the road Saturday at 2 p.m. The Phoenix fell to the Vikings at the Resch Center on Dec. 7 by a score of 83-61. Je'Shawn Stevenson led the way for CSU with 20 points in 27 minutes off the bench.
