Heritage Hill State Historical Park invites the community to commemorate the 250th anniversary of America with two special events that celebrate the nation’s history, music and traditions through memorable entertainment and interactive family fun.
The events will take place on June 25, from 5:30-8 p.m. and June 28, from 12-7 p.m.
On June 25, Let Freedom Sing will bring the sounds and stories of early America to life through performances by the Duldey Birder Chorale of St Norbert College.
This event will also feature performances with Elaine Moss and Kent Paulson, Fife and Drum Corps and an Abrams Spotlight Productions’ performance of 1776.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for seating. Minzo’s kitchen will be onsite selling food. The lower-level bar will be open with wine, beer, mixers and soda available for purchase.
The celebration will continue on June 28 with a full day of patriotic fun at Heritage Hill for A 250th Family Celebration.
Visitors can take part in traditional Fourth of July-inspired activities such as watermelon seed-spitting, pie-eating contests and live musical performances. Food vendors Fundae Scoops and J Dogz will be on site as well serving fourth of July food favorites and delicious desserts throughout the day.
