igNight Market returns to Broadway District

On Aug. 15, On Broadway, Inc. will bring back a beloved summer event — the igNight Market.

This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever with crowd-favorite events being expanded and new experiences added.

“The August igNight Market is one that so many look forward to, with the hot air balloon glow being a big draw,” said Mary Rhode, vice president of marketing and communications at On Broadway. “This years’ event will bring 12 hot air balloons! Additionally, we’ve adjusted the event footprint and included a new pop-up theatre experience with various performing arts groups, along with the scheduled main stage live music acts.”

The entertainment lineup includes a bit of something for everyone to enjoy.

“The ever-popular Mischief & Magic will be back again, this time with both their bus and fire shows,” Rhode said. “There will be plenty of fun entertainment including stilt walkers and more! Multiple live music acts will take the stage, ending with the popular and high-energy Milwaukee-based headliner, Djay Mando. The pop-up theatre, brand new to this year’s event, will offer acts like the locally hilarious ComedyCity Theatre and the ever-creative and edgy Dark Arts Circus performers.”

In addition to the live entertainment, event attendees can browse the offerings of a variety of vendors.

“From shopping the artisan market area and perusing the food truck options to enjoying the many unique artistic experiences throughout the event footprint, igNight Market presented by Fox Communities Credit Union is an eclectic mix of fun and artistic creativity located in the heart of downtown Green Bay,” Rhode said.

“We’re grateful to the many sponsors who help us bring events like igNight Market to the community, both locals and visitors alike,” Rhode added. “As a community-minded nonprofit, it’s important to On Broadway that we continue providing events like these that not only support the small businesses that call the Broadway District home but to also activate underused spaces while bringing arts, music, and the community together.”

With continued construction in Leicht Park, Rhode said, “The footprint may look a little different for those familiar with this August event,” but “attendees will still enter the park the same way they normally do and activities will be spread out utilizing the middle and north ends of the park.”

The hot air balloon glow is weather permitting, and Rhode encouraged hopeful balloon watchers to look for updates on the igNight Market Facebook page and event for up-to-date event information, including whether the balloon glow will happen as scheduled.
