LEDGEVIEW – A public hearing for the mixed-use business incubator and storage facility development off Kewaunee Road in Ledgeview was held on Sep. 9 during the Ledgeview Board meeting.
The proposed storage units required rezoning and approval of a Building Site and Operation plan (BOS).
With the proposed plan, construction would begin as soon as 2025 or 2026 and would be completed in phases.
The final phase would be completed in 2032, following the demolition of a house in 2030.
Current residents of the house approved the plan for demolition.
Five of the storage unit buildings would include 50 small storage units and 33 large storage units.
Kurtis and Mitchell Rollin, the applicants of the proposed BOS spoke on the importance of their storage units.
“I think Ledgeview is missing that type of business (storage unit) out in that area and I think it will serve well for the community,” the Rollin brothers said.
The BOS and rezoning plan was approved by the board.
The board also approved the application for a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources which would reimburse 50% of the cost for an urban forestry project.
With this, The Street Tree program would provide a free tree on top of their purchased tree to every resident participating in said program.
A Joint Driveway Maintenance Agreement plan between the Town of Ledgeview and Brown County was proposed.
This plan would allow Ledgeview to access the driveway on 1915 Scray Hill Road.
The Town of Ledgeview would fully take over the maintenance of the driveway.
This includes patching, crack sealing and plowing of the driveway.
Costs to replace the driveway when it fails will be split equally between Brown County and Ledgeview.
Widening of the east side will allow for two-way access of vehicles.
This proposed plan was approved by the board.
Changes and updates were made to the town’s current fee schedule.
Solicitor and Peddler Permit fees were expanded upon.
Originally it stated that the permit fee was $30, however for a plat it is $50.
The $30 is the general submission fee.
Garbage fees were clarified as well and raised on the schedule.
Fees were updated from $165 to $243.
