How would you describe your music?
A mix of R&B, pop, indie and classical hmong. I like to experiment genres and try new styles
What inspires you to create music?
I create music to be the voice of those who don’t have the words or courage to explain how they feel. I write about real experiences such as joy, heartbreak and self reflection.
What is your favorite part of performing live?
I love being able to share my songs to a large amount of people. I love performing and showing my personality through my songs.
What are you most looking forward to audiences hearing/experiencing at your concert?
I’m looking forward to reaching at least one person in the crowd. I want to let them know that they are not alone and that someone can relate to the experiences they are facing in life whether it be love, heartbreak or grief.
With over 100 million views and a growing 350k followers combined on all platforms, demonstrates David Yang’s eminence in music. He has been writing his own lyrics at the age of 16, making a blend of Hip-Hop, Rap, r&b and traditional Hmong music for over a decade. One of his biggest hits to date is ‘Txoj Hmoo Phem’, with listeners from over 100 countries.
