How would you describe your music?
Queer indie pop — poetic and dancey.
What inspires you to create music?
I am a highly sensitive person and a deep feeler. Writing music helps me give shape to these feelings and makes spaces to release them from my head and body. Creating music helps me connect to others and feel less alone.
What is your favorite part of performing live?
We love to pull people in with our energy and see them open up and start grooving throughout our set. Myself and my bandmates are all very expressive performers and silly at heart. We have fun with each other and with our audience.
What are you most looking forward to audiences hearing/experiencing at your concert?
First off, this is our first time ever playing in Wisconsin, so we’re excited to connect with the community in Green Bay. From the audience perspective, we hope to bring some joy, connection, and dance to a Sunday night!
How would you describe your music?
I would describe my music as a mixture of folk, rock, soul, country, and pop - but all with an underlying folk songwriting sensibility. I grew up on classic rock like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Queen, alongside classic folk artists like Simon and Garfunkel and Peter Paul, and Mary, so I find that everything I create has an element of those childhood influences.
What inspires you to create music?
I’m most inspired anytime I hear someone else talk about their creative process. Hearing someone’s individual passion for art often sparks ideas of my own or reminds me of everything I love about creating, motivating me to jump back into writing! I also find inspiration when listening through full albums on long drives (of which there are many on tour). A certain line or production choice might strike me, and the next thing I know, I’m drafting lyrics in my notes app, when the day before I may have felt completely uninspired!
What is your favorite part of performing live?
What are you most looking forward to audiences hearing/experiencing at your concert?
I’m most excited for the audiences to hear my incredible backing band and the different arrangements we’ve created of my original songs that audiences are familiar with. I’m just in awe of each instrumentalist in my band and, as band leader, have tried to cater the live shows towards their individual skills and let them shine. We do stay generally true to the original recorded tracks, but each of them also makes their own unique mark on the live versions in a way that I think makes our shows even more fun and unexpected!
