GREEN BAY – Mini Boss on Broadway, hosted by On Broadway, gives younger entrepreneurs the chance to get more experience with running their businesses.
Children 15 and under will get to run a stand at the Farmers’ Market on Broadway between June 15 - Aug 5.
“Kids…have very successful businesses of their own, so this is their chance to get that real-life experience of selling at a market-style event,” said Mary Rhode, vice president of marketing and communications for On Broadway.
This program, now in its fourth year, allows children entrepreneurs to learn the foundational skills needed to run a business.
This includes customer service, inventory, pricing and more.
These skills are important to any type of business.
“We’ve had some that are food-based; some that are more craft-based,” said Rhode.
Another part of this event is the collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
On July 15, older and younger kids will be running booths together.
More information about this will be shared at a later date.
Applications for Mini Boss on Broadway are open until April 30, and those who are accepted will be notified by May 19.
The sign-up can be found on the event’s page at marketspread.com.
Last year, 64 children were able to participate in this program.
