Miss Wisconsin-USA from Lawrence competes in national finals on Friday

Posted
For many pageant fans, it was weeks and then months of wondering and
guessing when and where the 2025 Miss USA pageant will be staged.

Last month, that announcement of those details came, and for the current
Miss Wisconsin-USA 2025, the time since winning the state crown back in
August will hopefully pay-off on Friday with the coveted national title and crown.

On Sept. 4, People Magazine reported that former pageant coach and judge
Thom Brodeur from Cortland, Ohio was awarded the Miss USA and Miss
Teen-USA national director position after three years of scandal and nearly
half of the state directors in America being replaced or resigning. He succeeds
Laylah Rose Loiczly of Florida who ran the national pageants since the 2023
pageants.

Loiczly replaced former Miss Texas-USA and Miss USA 2008, Crystle Stewart
Sebrechts who stepped down in August 2023 after allegations of favoritism
and sexual harassment during the two years she ran the competitions.

Lawrence resident Aneisha Alise Cox, who turned 23 on Sept. 26, was chosen
as Miss Wisconsin-USA 2025 over three other entrants on Aug. 10 at the Franklin  Center in Des Moines, Iowa. The Radcliff, Kentucky native was last year's second  runner-up at the 2024 state pageant in Verona.

Aneisha, the daughter of Lora and Ronald Bradford of Vine Grove, Kentucky,
earned bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing from the
University of Kentucky, along with a Health Management Certificate in 2023.
In recent years, she began a design business, Just 1 Designs, and she plans
to continue work in the fashion industry.

On Oct. 18, Aneisha departed the Appleton Airport for Reno, Nevada where
the 2025 Miss Teen-USA and Miss USA competitions will be staged this week
at the Grand Sierra Resort hotel and theatre, which hosted the 2022 and 2023
national pageants.

During the Miss USA state costume event on Monday, Aneisha wore a Canary
Yellow decorated body-suit with a matching colored embellished cape depicting
the state's most recognizable commodity, cheese. Additionally, she said that
she added shoulder-pads to recognize the Green Bay Packers are from this
area. Incidentally, she moved to Wisconsin in 2024 because her boyfriend,
who she has dated since 2022, is Jayden Kevon Reed, a wide receiver now
sidelined due to, ironically, a recent shoulder and colar-bone injury.

"The costume weighs about 32 pounds—20 for the cape, 12 for the bodysuit.
The exact material is a satin 2-way stretch and sequin 2-way stretch" Aneisha
said just before leaving Wisconsin for the national pageant.

"It was a fun experience creating and bringing Aneisha’s vision to life of what she  wanted to represent Wisconsin for the state costume category." said the costume  designer and Kentucky native, Taja Binford, the owner of Taja Le Chic designs of  Nashville, Tennessee. "Aneisha and I have collaborated on my personal designs  in the past and she’s always so down to earth."

Only one Wisconsin entrant has won the Miss USA state costume event, which
has no bearing on the actual official pageant judging: Miss Wisconsin-USA 1973, Diane Marie Modrow of Green Bay who tied with Miss Texas-USA. Diane's state costume was made of paper, representing the vast paper industry of Wisconsin.

Aneisha is the eighth black woman and the fourth woman from Brown Count to  hold the Miss Wisconsin-USA title and advance to nationals. The previous three were Jordan Marie Morkin (2011), Michelle Ann Altman (1998), and Diane Marie Modrow (1973, all were from Green Bay.

Also competing in Reno this week is the current Miss Wisconsin Teen-USA 2025, Autumn Gunderson, 17, of DeForest who earned the state title on her fourth attempt.

The DeForest High School senior won the teen title on Aug. 10 in Des Moines and will compete in the national Miss Teen-USA competition show Thursday.

Aneisha will join the other 50 delegates for Miss USA at 7 pm (Central time) on  Friday evening as they vie for the chance to represent the USA in the 2025 Miss  Universe event scheduled for November 21 in Nonthaburi, Thailand.

The two national pageants this week in Reno will not be nationally televised,
however, pageant fans and family members of the contestants can view the
events via the Queen Beauty Network, see website for details and cost for

No Miss Wisconsin-USA has won the national Miss USA title since the national
pageant competition began in 1952. The highest ranked Wisconsin entrants were Mary Lynn Cook of Wind Lake in 1974 and Alexis Maria Loomans of Waunakee in  2023, both were named second runner-up to Miss USA.
