Mobius leads with convenience in mind

Posted

DE PERE – After moving to Wisconsin from Arkansas, Lindsay and Jay Arndt saw a need for an after-school and summer program that balanced the fun with education for kids around Brown County.

“We are excited to be supporting families in our community,” said Mobius De Pere Owner Lindsay Arndt. “Providing additional space where kids K-6th can really grow makes it all worth it.”

Running their first summer program starting in June, Mobius is looking to finish renovations in April and is already enrolling children to enjoy their themed programs and rotation-oriented curriculum to help kids balance education and mind breaks.

These routines ensure kids aren’t moving from one curriculum session to another and are sprinkling in fun and play to keep kids coming back.

When Lindsay and Jay lived in Arkansas, they sent their son to the original Mobius program, which he enjoyed through and through and opened their eyes to a whole different form of childcare.

Once they moved back, they realized just how unique that program was and had the ambition to open one up here in Wisconsin.

Lindsay and Jay reached out to the first Mobius owners in Arkansas, Nick and Katie Bartelt, to walk through the possibility of opening a facility in Brown County.

As it turned out, Nick is from Wisconsin, and they were excited to collaborate on opening a facility here.

Lindsay and Jay bought the old Destiny Church building at 411 Destiny Drive in De Pere and moved to Parkerland to provide more space.

The Arndts began renovations, and their passion and dreams began to come together. With the convenience of children and parents in mind, they have designed a program that emphasizes flexibility.

Children can be signed up for the program anywhere from a week-to-week basis to attending the whole summer and/or school year.

This summer has themes of time travel built in throughout.

Each week, bringing a focus to a different period of time from prehistoric to industrial periods, and might even have a few glitches due to the time machines’ new technology.
Each child is placed in a group along with other children in their age group, with various themed team names, and has an outlined routine for their day, adding flexibility for what children might enjoy and opening them up to new experiences.

Free Fridays are built into the week to allow children time to finish projects they may not have during the week, or just for students to get a day of choice and agency.

Also occurring every Friday is an assembly that gives faculty the opportunity to recognize students through various awards.

“We are really excited to have a multipurpose room where we can host various specialists to add extra convenience for parents,” said Arndt.

Fully oriented to provide convenience to parents and children in the community, Lindsay and Jay are the first expansion of Mobius and are leading from lived experience while they serve the community and help the young generations grow and thrive.

Enrollment is now open. Visit exploremobius.com/depere/after-school-program/ to enroll or contact depere@exploremobius.com for more information.
