GREEN BAY – The Multi-Jurisdictional Teen Police Academy, a summer program offering high school students an introduction to law enforcement, will be held for its 25th year.
The program is organized through a collaboration between the Green Bay Police Department (GBPD) and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
The academy will provide participants with insights into various aspects of policing, including specialty units such as the Dive Team, K9 unit and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT).
Demonstrations of these units are planned, along with opportunities for students to engage in activities such as crime scene processing.
The program also includes tours of the Green Bay Police Department, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office and the Brown County Jail.
The Teen Police Academy is open to students currently in grades 9-12 within Brown County during the 2024-25 academic year.
The program is scheduled to run from June 9-12, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
The sessions will start at the Green Bay Police Department, located at 307 S. Adams St., Green Bay.
Lunch will be provided for participants.
Due to limited space, with a class size capped at 30 students, organizers are asking for a commitment to attend from those who register.
Interested students must complete an application and waiver to participate.
The deadline for submitting these forms is Friday, May 23.
