At what age did you start playing your main sport?
I started playing basketball at eight years old.

Who introduced you to basketball?
I was introduced to basketball by playing it in the gym at the boys and girls club.

Has basketball always been your favorite sport?
I have always loved basketball.

How has balancing academics and athletics been different for you from your freshman year to your senior year?

I have always been good at balancing school and sports, nothing has changed for me.

What is your favorite part about basketball?
My favorite part is how it challenges you to persevere and keep striving to be better. It’s helped me reach my full potential as a human being.

What about it has caused you to stick with basketball for this long?
Basketball has taught me many lessons and has allowed me to build so many great relationships.

Is there a professional athlete you look up to? If so, why?
I don’t really look up to any athlete in particular, I look up to anyone who made it despite what life has thrown at them.

What would you say is your biggest asset as an athlete?
My biggest asset is my confidence, I am never scared to stop shooting or change how I play just because it’s not going the best at the moment, it’s helped me improve as well as my teammates. They see me struggling but I continue to keep going, they see that and do it as well.

What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?

Being able to meet and spend all four years with my amazing teammates.

How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?
It feels surreal to be the senior graduating. I grew up and I have become a better me, and looking back it’s like wow I used to do those things or I used to play that way. It feels amazing to see how much I have grown.

Do you have any pre-game rituals/routines/superstitions?
I listen to the same playlist before every game.

Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to give a shout out to?
I would love to shout out Zachary Pate, he originally started as one of my coaches but has become like an older brother to me. He has helped me through thick and thin, giving me countless opportunities to improve at life and basketball.

Any hobbies outside of sports?
I love to read.

Favorite song?

“Pink & White” by Frank Ocean.

Sports drinks like Gatorade or Powerade or Water?
I love the strawberry banana Body Armour drink.

Future Plans?
I plan on attending UW-Oshkosh, I am currently undecided in what I will major in. I do plan on furthering my athletic career playing soccer.
