How did you get started playing your sport?
When I was in second grade I experimented with a lot of different sports, but basketball was the one I had the most fun in and had the most friends with me. I kept playing and just stuck with it.

How has the balance between academics and athletics changed for you from freshman to senior year?
School is always first and I have understood that since the beginning, but I realized as I got older that the schoolwork gets harder, and I need to focus more on getting good grades, while also focusing on getting better and working hard in practice everyday.

What is your favorite part about this sport? What is the most challenging part about this sport?

My favorite part about basketball is the fast pace of the game and the energy that comes with it. The most challenging part is the mental side, there is always something going on, so you need to be one step ahead and understand the circumstances of what is happening around you.

What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?
Last year when I had to get knee surgery right before the season started, and to come back by the end of the year and play a little bit. That meant a lot to me and I was proud of what I had accomplished.

Do you have a bucket list goal that pertains to your sport?
I want to play in the Kohl Center and compete for a State Championship.

How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?
It feels wild. I remember being a freshman and looking up to all of the older guys like Johnny Kinziger and Will Hornseth and working my way up to varsity over the years. Now being a senior, it feels good to know that I waited my turn and am now a leader in the program for kids who are younger than me.

Do you have any pre-game rituals/routines/superstitions?
I shower and drink a strawberry-banana smoothie.

Dream vacation destination?

Go to Italy and Greece and see the Mediterranean.

Any quotes that help you in your sport or life in general?
Everyday presents a new opportunity to grow and press forward to your success.

Favorite food?
My mom’s spaghetti and meatballs.

Random fun fact about you?
I have two golden retrievers, one has one eye and is named Violet, and the other is Poppy.

Any hobbies outside of your sport?
I like to spend time outside and from time to time dabble in some Minecraft.

Favorite movie/TV show?

Shutter Island.

Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to shout out?
Coach Bookter, who has always been there for me, and Coach Setzer, who has always pushed me to get better and have confidence in myself.

Future Plans? (college, major, career, etc.)
I am undecided on where I am going, but I plan on majoring in exercise science, on a physical therapy track.
