How did you get started playing your sport?
I’ve tried a ton of sports, and by chance, I signed up for Softball. I was lucky to get on a team with great coaches and teammates, which sparked my interest and desire to get better and keep playing. Thanks to the Bomb Squad and Coaches Venden, Bukoske, and Hanke.
How has the balance between academics and athletics changed for you from freshman to senior year?
From freshman to senior year, I have learned how to balance academics and athletics better. I improved my time management, stopped procrastinating, and began taking my academics more seriously while staying committed to my sport.
What is your favorite part of this sport?
My favorite part of softball is that it is a team sport, but each play also depends on individual effort and responsibility.
What is the most challenging part of this sport?
The most challenging part of softball is the mental side of the game. Staying focused, making quick decisions, and knowing what to do before the play happens.
What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?
My most memorable experience in high school sports so far was hitting my first home run during my sophomore year.
Do you have a bucket list goal that pertains to your sport?
My senior year goal is to be first team all-conference.
Do you have any pre-game rituals/routines/superstitions?
Yes, I always have to re-tie my shoes before going out on the field, and always get my hair braided
Dream vacation destination?
Italy.

Steak with blue cheese.

I was adopted from Guatemala City.
Any hobbies outside of your sport?
I work at a haunted house (Terror on the Fox)

The Halloween franchise.
Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to shout out?
Ironically, my most memorable coaches weren’t softball coaches. My AAU basketball coaches from Team 1848, Harry Boyce, Michelle Tuscan, and Terry Melchert, were great coaches and mentors for me.
Future Plans? (college, major, career, etc.)
I plan to attend college, where I will play softball and participate in the ROTC program. I intend to major in criminal justice.
