What’s it like to be a leader at West De Pere?
“It’s a big responsibility because you have to set a good example for the underclassmen, and you have to do everything the right way.”
Talk about your accomplishments as a wrestler.
“It was a blast taking fourth at state my sophomore year, but it was heartbreaking when I didn’t qualify for state last season because I finished third at sectionals. I need to cherish every moment this season with the uncertainty of COVID-19. My ultimate goal is to return to state.”
How many years have you been wrestling?
“Thirteen.”
What’s your most memorable moment?
“Beating the No. 4-ranked wrestler at sectionals my sophomore year.”
What's the hardest part about competing in a match?
“Being mentally strong, even when your body is tired.”
Which teammate would you choose to be lost with on the ocean?
“Alec Ukkola, because he’s smart, and he would make it fun.”
If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be?
“Jim Halpert from ‘The Office’ so I can mess with Dwight.”
What’s your routine before a match?
“Eating and drinking after I weigh in and then listening to music.”
During the offseason, what’s your routine on Fridays?
“Hanging with the homies.”
What’s something about you most people don’t know?
“Sometimes I listen to Katy Perry to get me in a happy mood before matches.”
Talk about how your wrestling moves progress as you get older.
“Certain moves work in middle school, but they won’t at the next level. High school wrestlers are stronger, faster and more experienced, so you have to be crisp with your technique.”
Australia or Europe?
“Europe, because of the deep culture. There’s so much to see and do across the ocean.”
What are your college aspirations?
“I’ll either attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point or UW-Lacrosse.”
What’s it like wrestling for head coach Chris Gallegos?
“He and my former head coach, Nick Winch, push me to be my best on the mat and in the classroom. Coach Winch was my coach for three years, and this is the first year for Coach Gallegos. He was an assistant coach for quite a while.”
What are your hobbies?
“Hanging with my friends and playing PS4.”
What’s your favorite event ever attended?
“Watching Wisconsin wrestle Iowa during my sophomore year in Madison.”

In 15 years, how do you want to be remembered at West De Pere?
“Being a good student in the classroom and being a great leader on the wrestling team.”
