Brown County Central Library, 515 Pine Street, downtown Green Bay, will host its annual, all-ages Brown County Library Pop Con on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m.-4 pm.
Headlining this year’s Pop Con is the best-selling comic author and artist, Lucy Knisley.
Her comics vary in audience and readership from infant through adult, including the award-winning Relish: My Life In The Kitchen and the Peapod Farm series.
At 10:45 a.m., Knisley specializes in personal comics focusing on food and family relationships.
Kinsley will participate in a live Serious Fun podcast recording with Dr. Bryan Carr, discussing her inspiration, her process, and how to turn life’s little moments into creative and heartfelt comics.
At 1:30 p.m., Kinsley will give a presentation about travelogueing and recording life events in the medium of comics, exploring the methods, techniques and fun of drawing a story of your life.
New this year, wrestlers from Hybrid Wrestling Entertainment (HWE) will be in attendance at Pop Con with opportunities for attendees to meet their favorite wrestlers, get an autograph, take photos and learn more about the local professional wrestling scene.
At 10:15 a.m., wrestlers from HWE will team up with the librarians for stories, songs and wrestling moves.
At 2 p.m., HWE wrestlers will answer questions about the world of pro wrestling with Dr. Bryan Carr for the Serious Fun podcast.
Other featured events include a cosplay contest, cosplay planning advice with GameDweeber, Dr. Bryan Carr discussing characteristics of pop culture villains, beginner one-shot games of Starfinder and Dungeons and Dragons, a comic-making station and performances by Treble Alliance.
Attendance at Brown County Library Pop Con is free.
