GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Preble Athletic Department recently announced its 2025 Athletic Hall of Fame Class.
The 2025 class includes the following inductees:
Class of 2014
A two-sport standout, Daniels earned varsity letters in both football and track & field.
A two-time football captain, Daniels received multiple accolades including Special Teams MVP, Offensive MVP, and was named the 2014 Green Bay Press-Gazette Football Player of the Year.
He earned First Team All-Conference honors as a Defensive Back in 2013 and 2014, and was an All-State Honorable Mention in 2014.
In track & field, Daniels was a two-time team captain, a state champion and record holder in the 4x100m relay (2013), and a multi-time state qualifier.
He contributed to four consecutive Conference, Regional and Sectional Championship teams and was named the 2014 John F. David Founders Award recipient as Preble’s Outstanding Male Athlete.
He continued his football career at Northern Illinois University, earning the 2015 Juwan Jackson Walk-On of the Year Award, a full athletic scholarship, and was a member of the 2014 MAC Championship team.
Class of 1998
Farler was a dominant force in track & field, setting four school records and earning Team MVP and Captain honors in 1998.
She was a FRVC Champion in numerous events and finished second in the state in Long Jump in 1998.
A dual-sport collegiate athlete at UW-La Crosse, she competed in both track & field and gymnastics for four years, earning six NCAA All-American honors in track and two NCGA All-American honors in gymnastics.
She was part of eight WIAC Championship teams and multiple NCGA national championship squads, later serving as an assistant coach for UW-L’s 2003 National Championship gymnastics team.
She also enjoyed a professional dance career, including six years as a member of the Chicago Rush AFL Dance Team (captain for two years) and the Chicago Bulls Luvabulls NBA Dance Team (2008–09).
Class of 1982
A three-sport athlete, Jim Hobbins earned varsity letters in football, basketball, and track & field.
He was a First Team All-Conference football selection on both sides of the ball, and Second Team All-State, later becoming a WIAA state qualifier in shot put.
At the University of Minnesota, he earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors (coaches), Third Team All-Big Ten (press) and was an Honorable Mention All-American.
As team captain, he led Minnesota to a landmark victory over the No. 2-ranked Michigan Wolverines in 1986.
He later had a brief stint with the Green Bay Packers, further adding to his impressive football journey.
Class of 1977
A powerhouse on the football field, Rick Niedermeyer earned three varsity letters, served as team captain and was one of only two Preble players to rush for over 1,000 yards in a single season at that time.
He received First Team All-State honors as a junior and was named to Press-Gazette and Channel 5 All-Star Teams.
National recognition included being named one of the Top 100 Running Backs in the Country by College Football National Magazine and a Big 10 Magazine First Team High School All-Star.
He received multiple full-ride Division I scholarship offers before entering the business world, co-owning Towsley’s Promotional Products for over 30 years with his brothers.
Class of 1987
A track and field star, Heather Thorpe was a four-time WIAA state qualifier in the 100m, placing as high as third in the State Meet and earning All-State honors in 1987.
She held numerous Preble indoor and outdoor records and was a consistent leader on conference and regional championship teams.
Heather received the Most Valuable Track Athlete award three times and was named Press-Gazette Prep Athlete of the Week in 1986 and 1987.
Her legacy continued with multiple top-10 finishes in the All-Time Metro Bests.
She later earned a bachelor of science in computer science from UW-Madison in 1991.
These five inductees represent the highest standards of athletic excellence and leadership, and their induction into the Preble Athletic Hall of Fame is a celebration of both their accomplishments and lasting impact on the Preble community.
The 2025 class will be inducted at a ceremony on Friday, Sept. 26, at Green Bay Preble High School.
