PULASKI – Nathan Preslaski is the new wrestling coach at Pulaski High School.

A graduate of Pulaski, he replaces long-time coach Ryan Deprey, who accepted a teaching position at another district.

He served as Pulaski’s assistant coach from 2015-21 and was the lead coach for Pulaski Youth Wrestling in 2019.

He was also the junior varsity coach from 2008-14.

Before that, Preslaski was a volunteer coach in the district (2007-08).

He also had volunteer stops at Oshkosh West High School (2005-06) and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (2003).

Preslaski is a former wrestler and team captain at UWSP, where he was an NCAA Division III qualifier, WIAC Conference Champion and winner of the team’s Most Outstanding Wrestler in 2001.

He was a WIAC runner-up in 2000.

At Pulaski, Preslaski was a 1997 state title winner and qualified for state in 1994-95.

He was team captain in 1997 and team MVP in 1996-97.

"We wish Ryan Deprey and his family well as they move on to future endeavors,” Janel Batten, Pulaski athletic director, said. “We are in capable hands with Nate Preslaski taking over the lead role. Nate has long been a part of the Pulaski wrestling family, both as a wrestler and a coach. He has a plethora of knowledge and success, both as a high school and college wrestler and as a coach. I’m not sure I’ve seen someone more passionate about this opportunity to lead. We’re excited for Coach Preslaski, the kids and our wrestling community.”

Preslaski said he’s happy to be staying in Pulaski.

“It’s good to give back and help the kids who are here now,” he said. "This is about the Pulaski program, keeping it great and getting as many kids out as possible – this is about the kids in the program."
