Proffitt announces candidacy for mayor

GREEN BAY – Green Bay Common Council President Alyssa Proffitt announced her candidacy for mayor of Green Bay on Friday, Oct. 9, joined by community leaders and supporters.

“I am ready to pick up the torch and I am ready to carry it forward so that we can continue to make sure every neighbor has a seat at the table,” Proffitt said. “Now is the time. This is a collective future for us all… I planted my life here on purpose. It’s a community that gives back to me on the regular and one that I want to grow in. The community here in Green Bay is where I see my political career not only for the next four years, but beyond.”

Proffitt said her top priorities would include “housing for every income level, infrastructure that’s built to last and built fairly, city services neighbors can count on, and a City Hall that’s accessible and approachable for everyone.”
