GREEN BAY – GRACE Schools (Green Bay Area Catholic Education) recently announced that Dr. Stephanie Shedrow will join their team as the executive director of learning on Aug. 4.
“Dr. Shedrow brings extensive experience in education, spanning from middle school classrooms to leadership roles in higher education. Most recently, she served as an Assistant Professor of Literacy at St. Norbert College, where she was honored with both the Educator of the Year and Green Apple Teaching Award in 2024. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a master’s degree in Instructional Coaching from the University of Nevada–Las Vegas,” a GRACE release stated.
“As executive director of learning, Dr. Shedrow will guide and support principals in strengthening instructional practices and supporting leadership at the school level. She will also oversee the ongoing development and alignment of the GRACE curriculum team, ensuring it maintains high academic rigor and addresses the diverse needs of students as we navigate forward. Additionally, she will lead initiatives focused on improving teacher training through expanding professional development opportunities, and enhancing student achievement across the entire GRACE system.
“Her professional background includes instructional coaching, curriculum development, and working with students with learning gaps, all experiences that have deepened her commitment to literacy instruction and shaped her collaborative leadership style. Dr. Shedrow is particularly enthusiastic about supporting school principals, leading systemwide academic planning, and helping to guide GRACE’s evolving literacy initiatives.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Stephanie Shedrow to GRACE as our new Executive Director of Learning,” GRACE President Kimberly A. Desotell stated. “Dr. Shedrow brings a deep commitment to academic excellence, strong leadership, and a passion for forming both hearts and minds. Her expertise will be an invaluable asset to our system of schools as we continue to uphold and advance our high standards of learning and empower both teachers and leaders across GRACE.”
A Green Bay native, Shedrow attended CCD at St. Philip School and was confirmed at St. Bernard Parish.
She said that she values her connection to the area and its faith community and looks forward to continuing her work with GRACE, including collaborating with several former students from St. Norbert College who are now teaching in GRACE schools.
“I’ve spent many years in teacher preparation, but I missed working directly with teachers and students. This opportunity with GRACE brings me back to what I love in building relationships within schools and supporting educators in real time. I’m excited to help strengthen learning at every level,” she added.
Shedrow resides in the Green Bay area with her husband and their daughters.
