Two new exhibits open at the Mulva

Posted

Last week, the Mulva Cultural Center welcomed not one, but two amazing exhibits for the entire family — Explore Your World and Top Secret: License to Spy.

“Our next two exhibitions are designed to captivate and inspire—blending hands-on experiences with the fascinating worlds of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM),” said Claudia Damiani, director of exhibits and education at the Mulva Cultural Center. “These exhibitions showcase the role STEM plays in our daily lives, highlight careers in various STEM fields and offer an exciting peek into exploration and espionage.”

Both exhibits were created by the renowned Scitech in Perth, Australia and produced by Imagine.

“Imagine is proud to partner with Scitech to bring engaging and educational experiences like ‘Explore Your World’ and ‘Top Secret’ to Mulva Cultural Center,” said Tom Zaller, president and CEO of Imagine. “Whether navigating the world through maps or diving into the world of espionage, these exhibitions inspire curiosity and deeper learning by presenting complex STEM topics in accessible, interactive ways.”

“The immersive sets and activities in both exhibits provide a glimpse into the worlds of navigation and covert operations,” said Damiani. “It’s a chance for visitors to engage with real-world science in a completely unique way.”

Explore Your World

Explore Your World reveals the importance of maps and navigation in everyday life through quests across land, sea and space.

In Explore Your World, guests will dive into the art and science of navigation, from ancient techniques to modern technology.

The exhibit invites visitors to embark on adventures through shipwrecks, virtual buildings, and even pilot an underwater exploration vehicle.

Visitors will navigate using coordinates in a giant game of Battleship, map their surroundings with sonar, and explore global ocean currents through real-time computer modeling.

Plus, learn how ancient explorers relied on the stars for navigation across vast oceans and lands.

Top Secret

In Top Secret: License to Spy, visitors will go undercover and enter a world of coded messages and satellite surveillance when they take on the role of a secret agent.

Visitors will go undercover, entering a world of coded messages, satellite surveillance, and high-tech espionage.

This exhibit provides a peek into the science behind spying, where visitors will gather intelligence through activities like deciphering codes, identifying microdots, and using lasers to eavesdrop.

They’ll even learn how spies use radio bugs and oscilloscope technology to monitor conversations, all while getting a behind-the-scenes look at the secretive world of espionage.
