Vande Hei named DePere Area Men’s Member of the Year

DE PERE – Dan Vande Hei was recognized as this year’s “Member of the Year” by the DePere Area Men’s Club.

The award was presented during the club’s annual holiday banquet held at the Swan Club in DePere.

Vande Hei is a longtime member of the DePere Area Men’s Club and currently serves on the organization’s board of directors.

Each year the DePere Area Men’s Club recognizes a member who has “distinguished himself by participating in and leading numerous club projects.”
Members are nominated based upon their contributions to the club, and then from those nominated a member is voted to receive the award by the organization’s members.

“Dan Vande Hei played a key role in the success of this year’s charity golf outing sponsored by the Men’s Club. Dan was on the outing’s leadership team that raised more than $4,500 to help needy school children within DePere school districts. Also, this past year, Dan was the project leader of a significant project that included recruiting and organizing several DePere area organizations to help a needy family within the community,” a club release stated.

“Dan is typically among the first to raise his hand to volunteer for the many fund-raising activities that support the purpose of the organization,” said Men’s Club President Jack Driscoll. “Our club is fortunate to have Dan Vande Hei as a member.”

The DePere Men’s Club is a community focused organization composed of more than 40 retired men who are dedicated on making DePere a better place to live.

The club meets Tuesday morning meetings held at 9 a.m. at the DePere Community Center, 600 Grant St., West DePere.
