Bellin Run Corporate Challenge

Posted

GREEN BAY – The 50th Bellin Run is just two weeks away and runners from all over Northeast Wisconsin are hitting the road for their last few opportunities to train.

Though running is technically an individual sport, the Bellin Run has a program that works to break that stigma while promoting a healthy work environment.
The Bellin Run Corporate Challenge offers a way to promote healthy fitness habits while encouraging team building for employees in the workplace.

Several local companies — such as FEECO International, Aimbridge, KI and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) — have become loyal participants in the program after seeing tangible results in their workplace.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed being a captain for the Bellin Run Corporate Challenge at KI for many years. It’s great to be able to sponsor and promote such a great wellness community event where I can encourage employees to register and train for this event,” said Denise Green, captain of the KI Corporate Challenge team.

KI has been a longtime gold sponsor of the Bellin Run and has participated in the Corporate Challenge for several years.

“(Assistant Race Director) Linda (Maxwell) and (Executive Race Director) Randy (Van Straten) make it so easy for us to connect with our employees, encourage friends and family members to register, as well as get the perks of picking up our packets early and receiving an incentive item for our registrants,” said Green.

The Corporate Challenge allows local businesses to participate in the Bellin Run in either the 5K or 10K while promoting corporate camaraderie, according to the Bellin Run website.

Each business that participates receives promotional materials, a team picture, access to a company kickoff and promotional seminars as well as the opportunity to have a corporate tent on race day.

“The Corporate Challenge competition is great in terms of trying to increase our participation level from year to year. We receive a visit from an elite runner prior to the run/walk event and those that attend love the inspiration and connection that is made with someone so successful,” said Green. “This annual event has become so well known throughout the area and I hope it continues for many years to come. Runners and walkers come from all over to participate in this race and I am so grateful to be part of the history as we celebrate 50 years of community wellness through this event.”

The 50th annual Bellin Run will take place on Saturday, June 13. For more information visit bellinrun.com or the Bellin Run Facebook page.
