Has baseball always been your favorite sport?
No, I grew up playing lots of sports including soccer and basketball in high school, as well as golf. My favorite sport was whatever season I was in.
Who is your biggest supporter?
It would hard to name just one. My parents and siblings have been there every step of the way and helped me so much. My girlfriend has been a great influence on me and my career. I can’t not mention my close friends, including teammates I’ve met over the years that helped me get to where I am.
What do you think is the most challenging part of your sport?
The mental game and battling through adversity because there is always some.Showing up everyday and believing in yourself is one of the most important tools to succeed in baseball but also the hardest to master.
What attracted you to your position?
Pitchers have complete control of the baseball game that no other position has and that really drew me to pitching. Growing up watching greats like Jacob DeGrom, Madison Bumgardner and Justin Verlander when I was a kid influenced me.
What is the best advice you have received from a coach/parent/teammate?
What is your favorite baseball-related memory?
Being the pitcher to close the Ivy League Tournament and send Columbia to a Regional in 2025. All my teammates dogpiling on me after the final out is one of the most unforgettable moments of my career.
Who is one professional player that you admire? Why?
Jacob DeGrom. He was drafted as a shortstop and I grew up playing other positions before becoming a college pitcher. He had struggles early in his career, but watching him battle back and become one of the most dominant pitchers of his this generation was awesome to watch as well as being the Ace for my favorite team, the New York Mets.
What is your favorite way to celebrate a big win?
Stopping at Kwik Trip with my Green Bay Rockers teammates on the road, it always is the best.
Favorite pre-game snack?
Bananas for sure, as well as any caffeine. As a pitcher you need to be energized and caffeine really helps me and just about all my teammates with that.
Do you have a favorite quote, mantra or bible verse?
Walk-up song?
‘War Pigs’ by Black Sabbath.
What is your favorite thing about Green Bay?
The fact that we get free golf as Rockers players is hard to beat.
Fun fact about yourself?
I play more golf than baseball in the summer.
Favorite food?
Sushi.
If you could play with any professional player (current or past) who would it be?
