On Aug. 8, for Art Nite in Downtown De Pere, newARTSpace will make space for local color with the opening of Creativity Runs Deep Here, an exhibition featuring selections of sketches and sketchbooks by the artists of Sketch De Pere, photographs by the members of Appleton’s Photo Opp made during their De Pere Photo Walk and Nate Rose’s plein air paintings of De Pere sites.
Artists represented by Sketch De Pere include Julie Baugnet, Christine Style, Virginia Janssen, Faye Willems, Judy Parins, Jeanna Trindal, Cathy Golden and Samual Jasmer.
Each month the artists gather at a pre-arranged location to join in an informal sketching session, gathering at the end of the afternoon to share their creations.
The locations visited since their inception in November included La Vie Taverne, Blue Door Artworks, Mulva Cultural Center, Cocoon Brewery, Pages and Pours, newARTSpace, Sweet Willow and Bosse’s News, the Locktender’s House at Voyageurs Park and Ledgeview Park.
Photo Opp Photo Walk photographers participating in the exhibit include Tania Nelson, Daniel Kramer, Graham Washatka, Brandi Grahl, Josh Crowe, Mike Burman, Andew Bott and Rob Adams.
The reception for the artists and Art Nite will take place from 5-8 p.m. on Aug. 8, but the exhibit will be on view through Aug. 16.
newARTSpace is free to visit and open to all.
Gallery hours are posted on newARTSpace’s social media pages and at newartspace124.com
