Chenning Xiong

How would you describe your music?
Hmong R&B.

What inspires you to create music?
Being able to turn my emotions, my words and my experiences into something that people can relate to and listen to.

What is your favorite part of performing live?
My favorite part is hearing the crowd sing along to their favorite songs from me.

What are you most looking forward to audiences hearing/experiencing at your concert?
Definitely being exposed to more than just the Hmong community. Although my lyrics mainly cater to the Hmong community, I believe my sound and melody can reach out to the emotions of everybody.

SECONDSUNS

How would you describe your music?
Emotional modern rock with a touch of Hmong influence, compiling everything we grew up listening to into one.

What inspires you to create music?
The human emotion and using music as a language to connect everyone. We started this band in hopes to preserve our Hmong language by only writing songs in Hmong. Through our blend of modern sounds with the Hmong language, we’re sticking to our roots but moving music forward.

What is your favorite part of performing live?

Our favorite part about performing is seeing the different faces in the crowd and feeling their energy. We draw a lot of our energy and performance from the crowd so seeing them enjoying the show really helps us keep playing.

What are you most looking forward to audiences hearing/experiencing at your concert?
What we’re most looking forward to the crowd getting to experience is something different that the Hmong community hasn’t had yet. From our songwriting, to our energy onstage, we want our music to be thought provoking but upbeat and fun at the same time.
