Career Highlight: Going to State during my sophomore and senior years.

How did you get started playing your sport?

My brothers started playing basketball at a young age, and I would watch them and go to their tournaments. I grew up around the game and adapted to that lifestyle. That environment made me fall in love with the game, and having my dad coach me for eight years really shaped who I am as a player.

How has the balance between academics and athletics changed for you from freshman to senior year?

As a freshman, it was definitely harder to manage my time and stay organized. Over the years, I’ve learned to balance my schedule better, create a daily routine, prioritize my responsibilities, and stay disciplined in both school and sports.

What is your favorite part of this sport?

The relationships I build with my teammates and coaches, and seeing how far you can go with those around you, to create something special.

What is the most challenging part of this sport?

The most challenging part is staying mentally tough, especially during tough games or long seasons, and pushing through adversity and staying consistent.

What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?
Going to State twice and experiencing that level of competition with my teammates has been unforgettable. This year, we were the underdogs; not many people believed we would make it as far as we did, and I think that just shows how special our team truly was.

Do you have a bucket list goal that pertains to your sport?

To compete at a high level in college and make a strong impact on my team.

Do you have any pre-game rituals/routines/superstitions?

I have a few pre-game rituals that help me get in the right mindset. I like to listen to Christian music to calm myself and focus before games. I usually grab either Jimmy John’s or a Scooter’s smoothie as my go-to pre-game fuel. Before meeting up with the team, I make sure to get in some shots on my own. And, like a little superstition, I always put my left shoe on first.

Dream vacation destination?

Greece.

Favorite food?

Fettuccine alfredo with shrimp.

Random fun fact about you?

I used to play softball and pitch for the Wisconsin Bandits for the Class A Northern Nationals

Any hobbies outside of your sport?

Outside of basketball, I enjoy spending time with family, golf, downhill skiing, and spending time at the lake.

Favorite movie/TV show?

Friends.

Looking forward to most about graduating?

I’m most looking forward to meeting new people and future teammates, working towards career goals, and enjoying college life.

Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to shout out?

I’d like to shout out Reggie Williams and Sara Rodhe for pushing me outside of my comfort zone and helping me grow as a player and person. They’ve supported me every step of the way and have always believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. Their guidance and encouragement have made a huge impact on who I am today.

Future Plans? (college, major, career, etc.)

I plan to continue my academic and athletic career at Bemidji State University, where I will play basketball while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
