Midwest Music Connection will host “One Day Choir,” a unique community singing experience focused on connection, joy and belonging on Friday, June 20, from 1-4 p.m. at Counting Stars, Inc. in De Pere.
Designed for ages 15 and older, One Day Choir removes the pressure often associated with traditional choir settings by creating a welcoming environment with no auditions, no audience, and no expectation of perfection.
Participants of all musical backgrounds are invited to simply come together and experience the power of group singing.
Attendees will receive practice videos ahead of the event to prepare at home before gathering for the one-day choir experience.
The event emphasizes encouragement, community and shared musical connection over polished performance.
“So many people miss singing with others, but feel intimidated by formal performance environments,” said Jen Shomin, co-founder of Midwest Music Connection. “One Day Choir was created to give people a space where they can simply sing, connect, and feel like they belong.”
The event will take place in the gymnasium at Counting Stars, Inc., located at 670 Main Ave. in De Pere. One Day Choir is offered on a give-as-you-feel donation basis.
Additional event information and registration details can be found through Midwest Music Connection on Facebook.
Midwest Music Connection is a Northeast Wisconsin community music initiative focused on creating welcoming musical experiences that foster connection, creativity and belonging through singing and community-centered events.
