DE PERE – The De Pere Redbirds (10-1 overall, 7-0 conf.) will remain on top of the Fox River Classic Conference (FRCC) with their 96-55 win over the Green Bay Preble Hornets (7-5 overall, 4-3 conf.) on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
Senior Zach Kinziger had 30 points on the night while senior Pryce Gregoire had 21 points to help lead their team to victory.
Gregoire said that he is proud of his team’s performance and they way they played together on the court.
“Just playing hard. Coming after the big win on Friday (83-82 vs. Ashwaubenon) it’s just about continuing to show up every day and play hard every day and get this result,” said Gregoire.
“I thought it was really good. We were a little slow to start, but we picked it up and figured it out, so that was good to see.”
As the Redbirds hope to continue their season on top of the FRCC standings, Gregoire said that there are a few things that he believes the team needs to work on in order to make a deep post season run this year.
“I think rebounding and continuing to work on getting through screens. It’s what we work on everyday, so if we can pick those things up, I know that we’ll be good,” said Gregoire.
The Redbirds will face the Pulaski Red Raiders away on Friday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. with the hopes of maintaining an undefeated conference record.
