Sweet new event coming to Green Bay’s Broadway District

The first annual Sweet Stroll on Broadway will take place this Saturday, July 19, put on by On Broadway, Inc.

The event invites attendees to explore more than 10 small businesses throughout the Broadway District while enjoying a variety of locally made desserts, candies and more.

“On Broadway created the Sweet Stroll on Broadway event to support local businesses while offering a new, family-friendly experience,” said On Broadway Events and Promotions Intern Lucy Sadler. “It’s the Broadway district’s first ‘sweet’-themed walk, giving initiative to encourage foot traffic in the summer months.

The event serves as a sweet, family-friendly twist on long-running On Broadway events like the Winter Wine and Beer Walk or the Run for the Roses Wine Walk.

“The Sweet Stroll on Broadway brings the same feel as events like the Winter Wine and Beer Walk or Run for the Roses Wine Walk, with a self-guided route, samples at each stop and opportunities to shop locally,” Sadler said. “The Sweet Stroll on Broadway is perfect for anyone seeking a fun summer activity. Attendees can enjoy desserts, lemonade, coffee and more while exploring and supporting the district’s local dessert and retail shops.”

Organizers hope the Sweet Stroll on Broadway will help drive traffic into businesses throughout the Broadway District.

“Events like the Sweet Stroll on Broadway provide a prime opportunity for the community to explore all our district has to offer,” said Brian Johnson, president and CEO of On Broadway, Inc. “It’s critical to our mission to drive foot traffic inside the many small businesses throughout our district. When looking at creating a new walk-style event for this year, we were excited at the opportunity to promote the many sweet-focused food items that exist.”

Stops along the Sweet Stroll will include Pete’s Garage, Titletown Brewing Co., Aurora’s Apothecary, Weld + Arrow, A Bag Lady and more.

Tickets for the Sweet Stroll on Broadway are available for $15 and can be purchased online or on the day of the event.
