The Olde Main Street District is inviting the community to explore local favorites, hidden gems and one-night-only specials at Experience Olde Main, an all-new event taking place this Thursday, Sept. 18.
“We have not programmed Olde Main at this level in many years, so bringing an event like Experience Olde Main to the community and to local businesses just opens the doors to countless future memories,” said Mariana Vargas, event manager for Downtown Green Bay, Inc. “Olde Main has a lot to offer and a unique way that we are highlighting all the different businesses with this event is through some of our taglines. We want attendees to taste their way through Olde Main, We want attendees to remember they can treat themselves throughout Olde Main. And we’re always encouraging people in the community to step out of their comfort zone and try something new.”
On the “taste” side of the event, attendees of Experience Olde Main are invited to check out specials and samples at Ten O’ One Club, Tequilas, Crown and Common, Meche’s, La Chata, Main Street Bourbon Room and Dan’s Kitchen.
For a “treat,” attendees can stop by Ana’s Fashion and Beauty Supply, The Plant People, Sunrise Boutique, Agave Azul, Mint Salon and OG Sunless.
Attendees are invited to “try” something new at Mary’s Canvas, The Art Garage, Clay Studio 1242, NWTC’s Artisan and Business Center, Ballroom by Jay, Rags and Bones and State Farm with Tiona.
“It’s really going to be about seeing people’s reactions of, ‘Wow, I never knew this place existed or I can get that service here,’ or ‘I just found my next favorite restaurant here on Olde Main…’” Vargas said. “What’s really cool about this event is we have businesses who are on Olde Main who have been here for many years and then we have new businesses who have never been a part of an event like this. I want people who are coming to this event to not only revisit staples that they haven’t been to in some time but also explore the new businesses.”
To get in on the festivities, attendees will need to purchase a pass in advance at downtowngreenbay.com or in-person at check-in at Main Street Square (1270 Main St.).
“This is a really great way to explore the hidden gems that Olde Main has to offer,” Vargas said. “A lot of the businesses that are participating in Experience Olde Main, a lot of the owners themselves will be present. It’s really cool that when you go into a location that you’ve never been to, you’ll have a face with that place and you can build some type of relationship with that owner which can encourage you to come back because you felt good when you entered — you had a good conversation with the people that were there with you. It’s all going to be about creating good memories for this event.”
